On April 21st, the second season of the AI Cloud Essentials podcast goes live! Sponsored by CoreWeave, this podcast brings new voices and perspectives to the constantly evolving AI conversation. We’ll explore critical areas where CoreWeave’s AI-native infrastructure is transforming vertical industries and inspiring new use cases—from media and entertainment to financial services, from software development to marketing.
Kicking off season two is Mac Moore, head of media and entertainment at CoreWeave, who explores how AI is enabling a wide range of creative studios and entertainment groups to rethink and streamline how visual content is created and adapted.
In this fast-paced discussion, Mac—former CEO of Conductor Technologies, acquired by CoreWeave in 2023—shares his deep knowledge of this exciting but often tech-phobic vertical market. This episode reflects the direct, no-frills approach this podcast series has taken right from the start. With the new season on the near horizon, let’s take a quick look back at the origins of our scrappy podcast.
When we defined CoreWeave Cloud as the Essential Cloud for AI in late summer last year, we made a bold claim. This simple statement establishes our AI cloud leadership and distances CoreWeave from general-purpose clouds. But to the average reader, the phrase might sound like just another marketing tagline. We felt it was important to define the qualities that make CoreWeave so essential, which was the inspiration for our AI Cloud Essentials podcast. Luckily, there were plenty of experts within CoreWeave who had insights to spare—and were willing to share them.
A grassroots podcast is born
To get the word out, we wanted a fast and simple deliverable rather than a more time-consuming whitepaper or analyst report. We pulled together a team of experts to make AI Cloud Essentials happen, including Ritu Jyoti, an award-winning AI thought leader and value strategist who recently headed up AI and Data at IDC. Ritu brought the deep AI expertise and third-party objectivity that we needed. We then enlisted visionaries from across CoreWeave to share their hard-earned insights, gleaned from years of AI experience. In each episode, we focused on a specific infrastructure area where CoreWeave Cloud provides essential capabilities and differentiating strengths.
- Episode 1: The Hyperscaler Tax
In the first episode, Ritu calls out what she considers the most significant threat to enterprise AI—the costly shortcomings of general purpose clouds for AI workloads. - Episode 2: Maximizing Performance
Jacob Feldman, CoreWeave’s lead solution architect, explores how our infrastructure is optimized throughout the stack for speed and efficiency, enabling our customers to escape pilot purgatory—and scale seamlessly. - Episode 3: Delivering Robust AIOps
Lavanya Shukla, Director of AI at Weights and Biases, proposes a better approach to AIOps that eliminates the high-cost, low-return complexity of general-purpose clouds. - Episode 4: Keeping Security High and Risk Low
CoreWeave CISO James Higgins highlights how an AI-native cloud provides specialized security, governance, and compliance—eliminating the AI Risk Blind Spot. - Episode 5: Enabling Friction-free Migration
Corey Sanders, senior vice president of CoreWeave, dispels The Migration Myth in an episode that advocates an incremental, zero-downtime strategy vs. “big bang” migration. - Episode 6: Scaling AI Seamlessly
Jean English, CoreWeave CMO, describes how CoreWeave Cloud achieves an essential goal shared by AI pioneers and visionary enterprises—driving profit margins versus escalating costs.
All episodes from the first season are available to replay on demand here.
When you listen to (or watch) any episode, it will quickly become clear that achieving Hollywood-level production values was not our goal. We wanted to avoid the usual paradigm of dudes talking tech on a well-lit stage. Instead, you’ll hear our interviewees in their natural habitats, talking freely into their webcams, unscripted, and only lightly edited. We think listeners will find that it’s a refreshingly honest addition to the AI conversation.
What’s new in the second season?
Having covered essential AI cloud infrastructure in our first season, we will turn to deployment in our second season. We’re trying to answer the ever-present question facing all leaders who are integrating AI into their organizations and workflows—how does AI create real-world value? In our six new episodes, we will highlight critical vertical industries and horizontal use cases—areas that are innovating new solutions and inventing entirely new categories of use cases. The common thread across every episode? The high-performance, AI-native infrastructure highlighted in our first season gets put to work in the second season.
